USPS DATA ISSUES HAMPER FLATS TRACKING – BUT WHAT WE CAN SEE IS PRETTY BAD
If you like bad news, read your afternoon email from the Postal Service – that’s when they run the doozy Industry Alerts. It seems they set their flat bundle sorting equipment to prevent correct data from being transmitted. “This issue is only isolated to Flat Bundle Visibility.” Unfortunately, with the FSS going away, a lot of Flat Visibility comes from bundles. The problem has not been fixed, but hopefully it will be by August 7. In the meantime, draw the conclusion you like from last week’s traffic report.
“Measurable” flats looked pretty bad. Letters looked OK, hovering near their YTD averages.
