SERVICE PERFORMANCE REBOUNDS. USPS HAS AN EXCELLENT WEEK, CLEARS OUT POLITICAL AND ELECTION MAIL
The election is over, political mail and ballots are out of the system, and service performance is well above YTD averages for the most part. It must be November.
Traditionally, service performance kind of evens out once the election is over, coasts along for a few weeks and then hits the holiday busy period. In past years, service has declined in December and stayed disappointing until late spring. For the last three years, each year seems to be worse than the one that preceded it.
Maybe this year will be different. Before we start worrying too much about next month’s hypothetical numbers, let’s go ahead and enjoy this week. Nice job, USPS!
