US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT APRIL 14, 2025
April 15, 2025   Dave Lewis

A LITTLE BIT SLOWER, BUT WITHIN EXPECTATIONS

On-time numbers were down on three out of four measured products, although generally in line with the low expectations that have become the norm. As usual, take First-Class flats with a grain of salt – small sample. Delivery days were longer in all categories.

We continue to use the service standards established in October 2021. If the Postal Service insists on changing the standards to include an extra day because of where the piece was mailed, so be it. We prefer a consistent measure.

Of greater interest, we’re far enough into 2025 to begin comparing YTD results. On-time percentages for First-Class letters are slightly better in 2025, but days in transit are worse across all categories.
